Who I am

I am Leon Day, an Integrative Counsellor based in the coastal town of Lowestoft, Suffolk. I offer face‑to‑face counselling, Walk and Talk therapy, the Rewind Technique and online sessions for adults who want a calm, grounded space to explore what’s going on beneath the surface.

 

Before becoming a counsellor, I spent over a decade working in the NHS as a Mental Health Nurse. Those years shaped the way I work today — steady, compassionate, and deeply respectful of the courage it takes to reach out for support.

 

In 2021, I retrained as an Integrative Counsellor at Waverley Abbey College and became a registered member of the ACC. I hold an enhanced DBS, and I’m registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), so your privacy and confidentiality are always handled with care.

 

How I Work

 

My approach is integrative and relational. No two people arrive with the same story, so no two sessions look the same. I draw from a range of Humanistic and trauma‑informed models — including Person‑Centred therapy, Gestalt, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Transactional Analysis, and creative or psychoeducational approaches when they’re helpful.

 

Rather than fitting you into a model, I shape the work around you: your pace, your nervous system, your lived experience. My aim is to offer a safe, confidential space where you can speak openly, understand yourself more deeply, and begin to move toward the life you want to live.

I have a particular interest in supporting people navigating:

 

  ADHD and ASD

  Anxiety and depression

  Trauma and complex trauma

  Alcohol or substance‑related challenges

  Stress, overwhelm, and burnout

  Feeling stuck, lost, or disconnected

 

I also welcome conversations around spirituality and meaning‑making. For many people, these questions sit quietly beneath the surface — shaping how we see ourselves, how we cope, and how we understand our place in the world. You’re free to bring that part of your experience into the room if you choose.

 

Moving Forward

 

Therapy is a collaborative process. My role is to walk alongside you — offering steadiness, curiosity, and a space where you can reconnect with the parts of you that have been carrying too much for too long.
